Britain’s Prince Andrew has renounced his navy affiliations and royal patronages, Buckingham Palace stated on Thursday.
The transfer comes after Andrew’s attorneys failed to influence a US decide to dismiss a civil lawsuit towards him that accuses him of sexual abuse.
“With The Queen’s approval and agreement, The Duke of York’s military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to The Queen,” Buckingham Palace stated in a press release.
“The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen.”
A royal supply stated Andrew would not use the title ‘His Royal Highness’ in any official capability and his different roles could be distributed amongst different members of the Royal household. They might not return to Prince Andrew.
