UK Considers How To Enhance Safety After Parliament Member Stabbing

Britain is contemplating quite a lot of choices to spice up the safety of lawmakers after a parliamentarian was stabbed to loss of life throughout a gathering with constituents, UK inside minister Priti Patel stated on Sunday.

The killing of David Amess, from Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Conservative Celebration, happened 5 years after the homicide of Jo Cox, a lawmaker from the opposition Labour Celebration, and has prompted a evaluation of politicians’ safety.

Amess, 69, was knifed repeatedly within the assault on Friday in Leigh-on-Sea, east of London, throughout a gathering in a church.

Police arrested a 25-year-old British man on the scene on suspicion of homicide and have stated it’s believed he acted alone. “The speaker has already put in a range of measures post Friday as we have with policing,” Patel advised Sky Information.

“Within that there are other options that are being considered such as when you hold your surgeries (meetings between British lawmakers and their constituents), could you have officers or some kind of protection…?” she stated.
