The Toronto Maple Leafs have added three extra gamers to the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol as an outbreak on the workforce that began in December continues to pull on.
The Leafs introduced Thursday that forwards Ondrej Kase and Nick Ritchie and defenceman Justin Holl have been added to the record.
The announcement comes two days after the Maple Leafs dropped a 2-1 highway determination to the Arizona Coyotes, who’re within the midst of a COVID-19 outbreak.
A complete of 20 Maple Leaf gamers have entered the protocol because the workforce struggled by way of its outbreak final month.
Many of the gamers have since returned to motion. Wingers Mitch Marner and Pierre Engvall, who entered protocol seven days in the past, had been the one different Maple Leafs out attributable to coronavirus issues Friday morning.
The Maple Leafs practiced in Arizona on Friday earlier than their upcoming sport in St. Louis on Saturday.
