Monsoon withdrawal not but full, says IMD

As towards the traditional date of October 15 when the southwest monsoon utterly withdraws from throughout India, the method is delayed this time, and its exit should still be not less than 5 days away, the IMD stated on Thursday.

The graduation of withdrawal of the southwest monsoon had began on October 6, towards the traditional date of September 17.

Not like the method of onset of monsoon, which could be very gradual, the withdrawal of monsoon needn’t be that gradual, the India Meteorological Division (IMD) had stated. Usually, the whole withdrawal of the southwest monsoon occurs by October 12 or most by October 15.

“There are low-pressure systems bringing in rains over Kerala, Tamil Nadu and another over Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coast. This had delayed this process,” IMD Director Basic Mrutyunjay Mahapatra advised IANS.

“It will be at least five days before the withdrawal process is complete.”

After October 12, the stage is about for the graduation of northeast monsoon – which brings in rains principally to Tamil Nadu, components of Andhra Pradesh. and Kerala. This time, due to the low-pressure techniques and cyclonic circulations since final week, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and components of Karnataka have skilled heavy to extraordinarily heavy rainfall.
