The Delhi Police recovered an improvised explosive system (IED) from the Ghazipur Flower Market space of the nationwide capital on Friday, a serious safety concern two weeks earlier than Republic Day celebrations.
Chatting with News18, Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana stated there was no blast and the IED was recovered. “We are working with multiple agencies to find out details. Major casualty averted,” he stated.
The system was disposed of in a managed explosion by urgent it into an 8-feet deep pit, which triggered a loud sound and smoke, sources stated.
Officers from the Particular Cell of Delhi Police, NSG’s bomb detection and disposal group and fireplace tenders are current on the spot.
